Glide Symmetry Applied to Printed Common-Mode Rejection Filters

In this article, we present a novel application of glide symmetry to differential lines with common-mode (CM) rejection filter properties. Two different topologies are investigated. First, is applied pair where ground-connected mushrooms employed as CM structure. The same idea also used in defective ground structures introduced stop the propagation. It demonstrated that bandwidth drastically increased when exploited both compared their corresponding without symmetry. Furthermore, show differential-mode propagation hardly affected by use symmetry, ensuring good integrity transmitted information. Experimental demonstration for mushroom and defected structure provided. Good agreement between simulations measurements results observed.
